“We are all multidimensional creatures. How we move through the world is decided by many factors. I seek to support clients who want to move more freely and have greater access to joy in their daily lives.”

About Me

As a Bodyworker, Somatic Sexologist, and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner I assist clients in reclaiming their bodies’ ability to feel pleasure. Using education, movement, breath, therapeutic touch, and myofascial release we unwind and reset the nervous system.

Some clients seek me out for structural bodywork. Through myofascial release and deep tissue bodywork, I work with clients to reach their optimum range of motion no matter what their activity level is.

With somatic sexology techniques, I assist clients in having a greater understanding of their sexual health, boundaries, and connection to pleasure. As a touch-based somatic sexologist, I am licensed to educate and offer resources and provide hands-on learning.

Our bodies hold everything we’ve ever experienced: our joys as well as our traumas. My training in Somatic Experiencing has given me the knowledge to help clients work through trauma and assist with post-traumatic growth afterward so that they may find new joys in relating with the world around them.

My Background

Growing up on the Gulf of Mexico, I developed a lifelong love of nature, particularly the ocean and its many moods.

Seeking that fluidity, my first degree in 1991 was in Performing Arts, theatre, and dance at the University of Hawaiʻi.

Learning bodywork at the Hilo School of Massage followed in 1994, giving me a deeper understanding and appreciation of the structural mechanics of the body. I’ve studied and expanded this body-based knowledge by learning craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, and structural integration.

As an advocate for body autonomy, I was hired in 1996 by the Waimea Hospital to teach school-aged sex education using theatre and performing arts. I’ve gone on to create consent-based education programs for teens and adults. I teach how to set healthy boundaries, develop clear communication skills, and say no and yes.

After studying Somatic Sexology at The Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in 2016, my knowledge of bodywork, movement, and sexual health culminated. I have studied under the greats in this field, such as Joseph Kramer, Ellen Heed, Betty Martin, and Betty Dodson.

Expanding further into understanding trauma and how to treat it somatically, I have studied under Peter Levine at the Institute for Somatic Experiencing. While there, I learned from Gabor Mate—a leading physician in Childhood Development and Trauma.

“If unresolved trauma can store itself in your muscles, fascia, organs, cells, and the rest of your physical body, so can joy, gratitude, abundance, love, and peace. Your body is also a safe space.”
